Applying for International Driving Permit Online in India

If this service isn’t available in your location, you’ll need to visit your local RTO office where you can make your application. Visit the Government Services Portal⁶ and select the option to issue an International Driving Permit
Select your state from the dropdown list, to check that online services are supported
Follow the prompts to fill in the applicant details
Upload documents, your photo and a signature specimen if required - only needed in certain states
Pay your application fee and verify the pay status
You’ll be informed of the next steps once your application is submitted. In many states this is offered as a ‘faceless’ service which means there’s no need to visit the RTO even to collect your license in the end.
